Rescue animals are incredibly unique creatures. They have been through so much trauma, yet many of them are still able to trust the people that take them into their homes. It may take some time, but if the new people in their lives give them the space that they need at the beginning, they are likely to begin to open their hearts once again, slowly but surely. In today's Reddit post, Reddit user @Theodore_Bunker shared how excited he was that his shelter pup came to trust him so much that she jumped on the couch and sat on his lap. It took 3 weeks for his dog to trust him enough in order to take this first step, which made the moment that much more special.
